Meet our Pastor

Pastor

I was born in 1973 in Sonnino (Latina), a little medieval town 80 km south of Rome in Italy. Entered the Seminary at the age of 23, after serving my country in the army as a paratrooper.
I got my degrees in Philosophy and Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, and my Master's degree in Communication at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome and was ordained a priest on December 3rd, 2005.
My first assignment was in Rome at the Body and Blood of Christ parish, where I learned a lot about parish ministry.
In 2009 I was sent to Albano Laziale (Italy) as a Director of Formation for the candidates to the priesthood in initial formation, where I stayed until 2011.
In April 2011, I moved to Canada and was appointed Associate Pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Toronto.
In 2014 I was sent to St. Roch's Parish in Toronto. There I stayed until I was called to be Editorial Director of Radio Maria Canada, for the Stations of Toronto and Montreal, in English and Italian. I fulfilled that appointment for three years until I was called again to be Director of Formation for the candidates to the priesthood in Toronto.
After being elected to the General Council of the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood and nominated General Procurator in 2019, I moved back to Rome for a short period of time.
In July 2020, I was appointed Associate Pastor of St. Roch's Parish in Toronto and stayed there until December 2021.
Since January 2022, I have requested to join the Archdioceses of Toronto and have been assigned in February as an Administrator to St. Patrick's Parish in Brampton.
And here I am, starting on June 29, 2022, in my new ministry as a Pastor of St. Norbert's Parish in North York. I am honoured to serve this community until God calls me to take the next step ahead. I pray daily for His will to be done in my life and in the life of all the people that I encounter on my journey of faith.

Yours in Christ, Fr. Augusto Menichelli
