From the Pastor's desk

Dear Beloved Parishioners,

As I reflect on the last two years that we’ve spent together at St. Norbert Parish, my heart is filled with gratitude for the grace and growth that we’ve experienced. When I arrived in June 2022 as a Pastor for the first time in my life, I trusted in the Lord's guidance and felt warmly welcomed into the community. Together, we’ve celebrated many sacred milestones of our faith, from First Communions and Confirmations to Palm Sunday, Christmas, and Easter. Our shared pilgrimages, events, and gatherings have created a vibrant community that testifies to the living spirit of our faith journey.

These past two years have been a time of personal transformation for me, and I am grateful for the privilege of shepherding this flock as a companion among fellow travellers. Your kindness, support, and dedication have left an indelible mark on my heart. To everyone in our parish family, whether you served on committees, in the office, sacristy, or at events, or offered your prayers and presence in countless ways, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. Your generosity, patience, and commitment to nurturing our liturgical life and ministering to pastoral needs have been a testament to the boundless love of Christ at work within our midst.

As I prepare to move to St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Thornhill, I want you to know that you will remain in my prayers. Farewells are never easy, but I trust in God's providence and the assurance that His plans are always guided by wisdom and love. Our spiritual bond will continue to unite us no matter where we are.

I'm pleased to inform you that Elissandro Marcelo Caldas has been appointed your new Pastor. I'm confident that he will lead and guide you with love and dedication. I'm sure that you will welcome him with the warmth and joy that has defined our community over the past two years. Please warmly welcome him and offer him any assistance and collaboration as you did with me.

While our paths may diverge, our shared journey of faith remains a constant source of enduring hope and inspiration. The love and devotion that have defined our community will continue to guide us no matter where we are.

May Mother Mary's gentle embrace enfold us all beneath her maternal mantle, guiding us ever closer to the heart of her Son.

With deep affection and blessings,

Fr. Augusto Menichelli
